What's the point?
Good question. inkwealthy was created to help anyone who’s writing something find earlier readers quickly and easily. These days more and more folks are publishing works on their own and a second (or fifth) set of eyes can make the difference between a mediocre mess and a polished masterpiece.
Whatever you’re writing - be it a manuscript, short-story, master’s thesis, or ten-page essay due tomorrow before school starts - inkwealthy wants to connect you with enthusiastic readers who are happy to give your work honest and constructive feedback.
Does it cost anything?
For the time being inkwealthy is free to use. There are some limits as we test out the waters. Chiefly, how many documents you can upload and how many you can sign on to test read are both limited to 5. In the future, we may increase this for a fee.
Another thought we’ve thrown around is letting some of the most highly rated readers become full-fledged editors. The idea is once you become an editor you can charge for more involved edits. inkwealthy would then take a portion of how much you make for your edits.
Can I have multiple accounts
Sure! Some folks may want to have a completely separate account to upload documents under a pseudonym. That’s a-okay just note that you’ll need to have unique e-mail addresses for each account.
Are my documents protected?
Yes. The documents you uploaded are saved using Google’s Firebase storage bucket. This uses SSL encryption to protect your writings. Plus the only folks that can access your uploaded work are your readers and you.
That being said, you should know that using this site doesn’t protect your from copyright infringement. If your concern is someone stealing your work just know that inkwealthy is not responsible for what your readers do with your documents. For more on this check out our polices page.
How can I stay up-to-date on inkwealthy's progress?
We’d love to let you know of any new things we’ve launched. Look in the footer below to subscribe to our mailing list. Also you can check out our Facebook and Twitter pages. Links to both are also in the footer.
What's next for inkwealthy?
We’ve got lots of fun stuff planned for future updates. We don’t want to let all of the cats out of their respective bags just yet but here’s a small teaser of possible additions:
- Live annotation on projects (currently in development)
- Notifications for new comments and feedback
- Highly-rated readers become editors
- Greater collaboration tools to help writers connect and create together
